The paleontology exhibition at the Geological Museum of Guizhou in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently started the preliminary assessment for the 2021 China's Best Museum Exhibitions Award.

The award is the most prestigious for museum exhibitions in China, and the paleontology exhibition is the only in Guizhou to qualify for the preliminary assessment.

Guizhou is rich in well-preserved paleontological fossils, providing a valuable resource for the Earth's history and biological evolution.

The exhibition systematically introduces Guizhou's 900 million years of geological history and 609 million years of paleontological evolution, showcasing rare paleontological fossils and biotic groups.

After the museum opened to the public, the exhibition quickly became popular on the internet and social medial platforms and received many visitors.

The preliminary assessment has received applications from 157 exhibitions so far, all of which are available online.
