13th CPC Guizhou Provincial Congress held in Guiyang

The 13th CPC Guizhou Provincial Congress was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 25. The congress will last until April 28.

During the congress, Party deputies will listen to and review the reports of the 12th CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and the 12th CPC Guizhou Provincial Discipline Inspection Committee.

They will also elect the 13th CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, the 13th CPC Guizhou Provincial Discipline Inspection Committee, and the deputies to the 20th CPC National Congress.

Over the past five years, Guizhou shook off absolute poverty, built a moderately prosperous society, achieved significant progress in economic development, and set goals for a new model of industrialization, urbanization, agricultural modernization and tourism industrialization.

Guizhou also received national policy support in the development of its western region in the new era.

In the future, Guizhou will adhere to a people-centered approach to balance economic development and environmental protection, as well as establish the West China Development demonstration area, poverty alleviation achievement examples, a digital economy innovation area, an ecological civilization pilot, and an inland open economy hub.
