In recent years, Anshun city in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been focusing on intelligent agriculture development by applying big data so as to introduce more featured agricultural products.

So far, the city has launched one pilot project related to big data and agriculture integration and 10 demonstration projects related to big data and agriculture integration, and helped 10 agricultural companies integrate with big data.

Bee sugar plum, a special kind of plum that is rich in Anshun's Zhenning county, features a sweet and crispy taste and is popular among consumers.

Zhenning Hengfengyuan Fruit Industry Development Co is a main grower of bee sugar plums in the county. The company makes use of big data to monitor the growth of plum trees in its orchard.

In 2022, the company uses an information traceability system to allow users and admins to access real-time information on orchards, sorting workshops and cold storages through smartphones and computers.

The system significantly improves the work efficiency and accuracy of the company, saving manpower and financial costs. Through the system, the company pastes an anti-counterfeiting traceability code on each package so that consumers can scan it and see the place of origin, picking, packaging and quality testing information of bee sugar plums.

The company currently has 19,000 mu (12,666 hectares) of bee sugar plums. In the future, it will introduce more intelligent systems to achieve its goal of saving energy, reducing costs, protecting the environment, increasing production, and strengthening food security.
