Southwest China's Guizhou province recently purchased 61 mobile nucleic acid testing labs, allowing it to test up to 1.26 million tubes of nucleic acid samples per day.

According to the requirements of the State Council, every county, city and prefecture should have the ability to complete regional nucleic acid testing in 1-2 days, and the province's nucleic acid testing capacity should be at least 1 million tubes per day.

In addition to the 61 mobile labs, Guizhou also equipped its nine cities and prefectures with 183 sets of quick nucleic acid testing equipment at fever clinics, and five cities and prefectures are each equipped with one automatic sampling robot.

Through pool-testing of samples of 10 or 20 people per tube, Guizhou can carry out nucleic acid testing on 10-20 million people per day. In this way, each city and prefecture can complete one round of mass nucleic acid testing in 24 hours.

The cities of Anshun, Bijie and Tongren, as well as Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, are each equipped with one municipal designated hospital for treating common, severe and critical COVID-19 cases.

The cities of Guiyang, Zunyi and Bijie are each equipped with one makeshift hospital for treating COVID-19 asymptomatic carriers and mild patients.

These efforts are meant to ensure Guizhou has sufficient medical supplies and treatment capabilities during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
