The commerce department of Southwest China's Guizhou province has launched policies to help private foreign trade companies expand into international markets, reduce operation costs, and enhance cooperation with government departments and banks since the beginning of this year.

The department supported the private companies to attend online and offline exhibitions amid the COVID-19 pandemic and attract more orders from international markets.

Companies seeking access to international markets can receive support in terms of international market access certificates, quality system certification, management system certification, product certification, overseas patent applications, overseas trade registration, and publicity in international networks.

Guizhou's provincial commerce department has assigned teams to provide companies with resources such as orders from foreign trade service platforms, customs declaration and inspection, financing, tax refunds, logistics, settlements and sales of foreign exchange, and risk prevention and control.

To help companies reduce overall costs, Guizhou has provided subsidies for logistics transportation on international railways, reduced post fees for packages sent through the Guiyang international mail exchange bureau, and helped companies build self-use and public warehouses in countries and regions involved in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

Guizhou has also encouraged banks to assign service specialists to help qualified private foreign trade companies receive foreign exchange revenue and expenditure service from financial institutions, and provided financial support for companies purchasing export credit insurance and overseas credit services.

The potential risks of export proceeds and loan repayments faced by private companies will be mitigated by government and financial institutions, and import customs declaration will be made more convenient.
