Southwest China's Guizhou province released a report on the province's energy development in 2021 on July 27.

The report analyzes Guizhou's coal, electricity, oil, gas and new energy development in 2021 from the aspects of consumption, supply and technology, and puts forward suggestions for future energy development based on the prediction of energy supply and demand in 2021.

According to the report, Guizhou maintained a high economic growth rate in 2021. It promoted an increase in coal and natural gas production and supply, actively developed renewable energy, and strengthened the allocation of coal, electricity, oil and gas.

Guizhou has ensured an orderly energy supply, the high-speed development of the modern energy industry, safe energy production, and the optimization of energy-related policies.

In 2021, the province ensured an ample supply of coal while transporting coal outside the province. It saw resumed growth in coal production capacity and output, enhanced electricity supply, and increased proportion of new energy generation.

Last year, the province started construction of four national intelligent demonstration mines, completed coal and power pool projects at 15 coal-fired power plants, and transformed 12 coal-fired power units accounting for 6.3 million kilowatts.

It also started construction on two megawatt-level photovoltaic bases, started pilot roof-distributed photovoltaic projects in 13 counties, built more than 4,000 charging piles, and built five charging and replacement power stations for heavy trucks.
