The 2022 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week opened in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 23. It will last until Aug 28.

This year's event has the tagline "jointly building an amicable home for a global future" and includes 37 activities during the week, as well as 57 activities throughout the year.

It attracted more than 2,400 representatives from China, ASEAN countries and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, which attended either onsite or online.

The activities will focus on cooperation in sustainable education, educational exchanges and cooperation in the post-pandemic era, innovation and entrepreneurship among teenagers, and cross-cultural exchanges among teenagers.

As a key exchange platform, the event has boosted education, technology, culture, healthcare, sports, media, and teenager exchanges between China and ASEAN governments.

Over the past 15 years, the event has attracted more than 30,000 guests from 50 countries and regions, seen the signing of about 2,000 cooperation agreements and memorandums, and carried out more than 400 projects and activities.

This year's event is expected to enhance the meeting mechanism of senior officials from education departments in China and ASEAN, and share experience and achievements in higher education, vocational education and elementary education.

It will also help establish the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Association and continue to implement the "Zhi & Xing Guizhou" Silk Road Youth Exchange Program to promote Guizhou among international students.
