Cooperation creates better future for Guizhou, Guangdong

Southwest China's Guizhou province has been receiving assistance from South China's Guangdong province for 26 years. After Guizhou shook off poverty in 2020, the two provinces have continued cooperating.

With Guangdong's companies, market, headquarters and R&D capabilities, as well as Guizhou's resources, products, production bases and manufacturing capacity, both provinces have enhanced their cooperative relationship.

Guizhou's unique mineral resources and excellent environment are extremely attractive to Guangdong's industrial transformation. Efforts to promote industrial development also show Guizhou's determination to attract investment.

In the first half of this year, Guizhou introduced 726 projects from Guangdong and signed 191.58 billion yuan ($27.98 billion) in investment contracts.

In February this year, the Eastern Data and Western Computing project was officially launched, bringing opportunities for Guizhou and Guangdong to seek cooperation in computing power.

Statistics show that in 2021, Guangdong's regional innovation abilities ranked first in China, and the added value of its digital economy was 5.9 trillion yuan, ranking first in China for five years.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area boasts strong economic vitality and rich data element resources. Its rapidly developing industrial scale puts forward higher requirements for computing power.

Meanwhile, Guizhou is China's first big data comprehensive pilot area and was approved to construct a national hub for China's integrated computing power network. It is an ideal place to meet the computing power needs of South China.

In the future, Guizhou and Guangdong will explore further cooperation in more industrial areas and pursue common prosperity.
