Renhuai city in Southwest China's Guizhou province has taken measures to help relocated impoverished people adapt to their living environment and live a better life.

Renhuai's Fenghuang residential community, which is the largest relocation site for impoverished people, has 3,065 people living there, more than half of which are women and children.

For a long time, the local community had faced employment problems for relocated women, who take on most of the responsibilities of raising children, caring for the elderly, and supplementing the family income.

To solve this problem, Canglong sub-district established a one-stop service platform to offer women services related to starting a business, employment, and vocational training.

The community attracted companies such as fair price supermarkets, garment factories and cake factories, and provided job positions such as property managers and cleaners.

So far, the community has helped 512 women find jobs, with an annual average income of more than 40,000 yuan ($5,556.57).

Chen Mei, a resident of Fenghuang residential community, is working at a supermarket downstairs. With her husband working as an electrician, the couple's income totals about 9,000 yuan per month.

"My workplace is right below my home, the working hours are flexible, and it’s not too strenuous, allowing me to make money while taking care of my family. The supermarket also pays for my social security, so I don't need to worry about my pension," said Chen.

So far, Renhuai has established 15 relocation sites and 15 Party branches, with more than 3,000 Party members paring with 2,985 relocated women to provide employment support.

The city also launched various preferential policies such as vocational training subsidies and discounted interest rates for business loans to improve women's ability to participate in industrial development and earn money.
