The 20th CPC National Congress started in Beijing on Oct 16, during which the report of the 19th CPC Central Committee to the 20th CPC National Congress was released.

According to the report, China has achieved victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and won the battle against poverty.

Since 2012, Southwest China's Guizhou province has lifted 66 counties and 9.23 million people out of poverty, as well as relocated 1.92 million people from remote areas, more than anywhere else in China on both counts.

With the gross domestic product rising from 54 trillion yuan ($7.5 trillion) to 114 trillion yuan, China has maintained its position as the world's second largest economy and contributed more than 30 percent of global economic growth, the report said.

In the meantime, Guizhou's regional GDP growth rate has ranked among the top in China for 10 consecutive years. In 2021, Guizhou's economic output was close to 2 trillion yuan, nearly twice of that in 2012.

Guizhou produced more than a quarter of ternary precursors and one seventh of guitars in the world. It also produced one third of China's medium and high-end wire ropes, four fifths of wet process phosphoric acid, and one quarter of high-quality phosphatic fertilizer.

The planting areas of tea, chili pepper, chestnut rose, blueberry and plum in Guizhou are all the largest in the country. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Guizhou's tourism visits and revenue ranked among the top in China.

By the end of 2021, Guizhou's permanent resident population increased by 2.65 million people over that of 2012. Since 2012, Guizhou's total number of market entities has exceeded 4 million, registered capital of market entities has exceeded 9 trillion yuan, and the balances of renminbi deposits and loans in financial institutions exceeded 3 trillion yuan each.

In 2021, the per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural residents were 2.1 times and 2.7 times higher, respectively, than in 2012.

Adhering to the concept "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", Guizhou's green economy accounted for 45 percent of GDP, and the forest coverage rate reached 62.12 percent in 2021. The environment has become Guizhou's largest developmental and competitive advantage, attracting investment and talent to the province.
