Guizhou hospitals included on national list of regional medical centers

Two hospitals in Southwest China's Guizhou province made the national list of regional medical centers, which was recently released by the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

One of the two hospitals is the Guizhou Hospital of Shanghai Children's Medical Center. Offering diagnosis and treatment of difficult and complicated diseases, the center focuses on children's heart diseases, neoplastic hematologic disorder, child development, nervous system and endocrine genetic metabolic system diseases.

In the future, the hospital aims to become a center integrating medical treatment, scientific research and medical education, a national territory hospital specializing in pediatrics, and a national-level regional diagnosis and treatment center specializing in pediatrics and serving patients in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and Hunan provinces.

The other hospital is the Guizhou Hospital of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, which relies on the advantageous departments of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital and develops orthopedics departments involving spine, joint, hand surgery, traumatology, pediatric orthopedics, and bone tumors.

It aims to become a modern and high-level hospital integrating medical treatment, medical training, sci-tech R&D, disease prevention and health management, and serve China's southwestern area.

Both hospitals are expected to improve the regional medical service capacity through online medical treatment platforms, artificial intelligence and big data.
