Fanjingshan Marathon a leader in intelligent mountainous sports

The 2022 Fanjingshan Marathon kicked off in Tongren, Southwest China's Guizhou province, at 8 am on Nov 6.

The event included one full-length marathon with a length of 42.195 kilometers, one half-length marathon with a length of 21.0975 km, and one mini marathon with a length of 6 km, and saw 5,000 runners from across the country participate.

The marathon started from Bijiang district and ended at Jiangkou county after passing through 24 villages. Along the route, local people dressed in ethnic costumes and performed traditional dances to cheer the runners on.

Liu Lei from Zhengbao club completed the full-length marathon in 2:19:29 and won the championship.

The Fanjingshan intelligent marathon track, where the marathon was held, is 43.742 km long and China's first comprehensive intelligent track for marathons, cycling and roller skating to be certificated by the Chinese Athletics Association.

The track has become a provincial sports tourism route and a successful example of the nationwide fitness program.

There are 39 data collection points along the track, including a chip data collection point every 5 km. Also, the track is equipped with resting areas, intelligent showers, an intelligent AED station, intelligent heart rate detectors, solar power seats, self-service charging piles, racing lights and artificial fog systems.

The intelligent track provides other services as well, such as event release, event registration, face recognition, chip recognition, personal photos, personal videos, score query, certificate download, and emergency rescue.

Built by the mountains and rivers, the track is also an ideal place for tourists to enjoy the scenery along the Jingjiang River in peak tourism season.
