At a 5G application exhibition conference recently held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, 18 5G application projects were licensed.

The projects were selected by the Big Data Development Administration of Guizhou Province and Guizhou Communications Administration based on innovation, progress, practicality, popularization and efficiency.

The projects will receive financial support from Guizhou's provincial big data funds.

Projects are selected for licensing every June and November. The selection process for November has already started and will end on Nov 28.

Since the beginning of this year, Guizhou has constructed more than 30,000 5G base stations, bringing the total number to more than 80,000, ranking the 19th in the country.

Currently, Guizhou's 5G application project library has 844 projects, more than 300 of which have started construction. The projects involve industrial manufacturing, rural vitalization, industrial park logistics, education and health, mining and energy, culture and tourism, government affairs, people's livelihoods, and smart city.
