Southwest China's Guizhou province plans to organize special teams to carry out international business and commerce promotion activities in 2023 to boost the province's open economy, according to a plan released by Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce on Dec 12.

The special teams will focus on emerging industrial sectors, Guizhou-based industries and other industries from around China. They will go overseas to promote investments and expand the trade markets in other countries. The team will also participate in international exhibitions, visit local companies and customers, and sign trade and investment contracts.

Other duties the team will perform are to select sites for overseas warehouses, establish overseas business representative offices, and build overseas marketing service platforms.

Guizhou's enterprises and commerce departments at all levels will focus on markets in Hong Kong, Macao, Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea, as well as emerging markets in Russia, India and member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

Guizhou will encourage enterprises that have experience in the international markets to share their knowledge. Enterprises will also be encouraged to turn their known contacts into investors, and attract international resources for Guizhou's manufacturing and service industries.

According to the plan, Guizhou will set and schedule specific goals for investment promotion. It will also strengthen the cooperation between provincial and municipal departments, government and companies, and domestic and overseas markets.

Guizhou will seek economic growth, encourage all the cities and prefectures to implement policies that can enhance industrial and supply chains, and look into the overseas markets to seek business orders.
