Guizhou provincial two sessions to open

Southwest China's Guizhou province will begin the annual two sessions of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Guizhou Committee and the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress in Guiyang on Jan 12 and 13, respectively.

The first plenary of the 14th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress will be attended by 581 deputies and about 1,100 attendees without voting rights. The plenary will last for five and a half days and close on the morning of Jan 18.

The deputies will listen to and review the work report of the Guizhou Provincial Government; review and approve Guizhou's executive condition for the 2022 national economic and social development plan and report on Guizhou's 2023 national economic and social development draft plan; and approve Guizhou's 2023 national economic and social development plan.

The deputies will also review and approve Guizhou's 2022 budget performance and report on its 2023 drafted budget; approve Guizhou's 2023 budget; listen to and review the work reports of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress, the Guizhou Provincial Higher People's Court, and the Guizhou Provincial People's Procuratorate; and hold an election.

The first plenary of the 13th CPPCC Guizhou Committee will be attended by 570 members and about 220 attendees without voting rights. It will last for five days and close on Jan 16.

CPPCC members will listen to and review the work reports of the Standing Committee of the 12th CPPCC Guizhou Committee.

CPPCC members will also attend the first plenary of the 14th Guizhou Provincial People's Congress to listen to and discuss the government work report and other reports; carry out a by-election of members of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC Guizhou Committee; and review and approve the resolution of the first plenary of the 13th CPPCC Guizhou Committee and the review report of proposals submitted at the first plenary of the 13th CPPCC Guizhou Committee.

CPPCC members arrived in Guiyang on Jan 10 and started to report for duty.
