According to Guiyang Customs, the export value of agricultural products in Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 5.5 billion yuan ($813.72 million) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent.

The exported products mainly included flue-cured tobacco, tea, bamboo shoots, duckweed, vegetables, traditional Chinese medicine, kidney beans, apples, fish and pork.

For the first time, Guizhou exported sturgeon to Laos, honey to Australia, and pork to Macao last year.

Guiyang Customs has taken various measures to encourage Guizhou's agricultural companies to explore the international market, and enhance their competitiveness.

When sturgeon exports to Vietnam began, customs departments from Guiyang, Chongqing and Kunming reported to the General Customs Administration, and had enriching discussions with Vietnam through multilateral meetings to solve any problem that arose.

Guiyang Customs provided targeted policies and designated specialists to each company to promote customs clearance modes, set up green channels for the export of fresh and perishable agricultural products, and offered reserved customs clearance services for certain goods.

It has collected the laws, regulations, technical trade measures, and export requirements for the United States, the European Union and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to ease and streamline the export process.

It has also organized the supervision, sampling and risk monitoring of pesticide residue, drug residue and heavy metal residue to ensure that the agricultural products meet export security and quality requirements.
