In 2023, Southwest China's Guizhou province aims to attract more than 200 digital economic projects with high growth potential and invest 20 billion yuan ($2.92 billion) in big data.

Guizhou, which is currently constructing a digital economy development innovation area, aims to maintain stable investment in big data and build a national computing power support base and national data element circulation hub.

In 2022, Guizhou's total investment in big data totaled 20.54 billion yuan, up 30.35 percent year-on-year. Taking advantage of the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project, Guizhou attracted 11 key data center projects, built 84,000 5G base stations, and created more than 300 5G application scenarios in 2022.

In the future, Guizhou will continue to improve its digital facilities, and have 800,000 standard server racks in data centers, 4 million servers, and more than 180,000 5G base stations by 2025.
