Longli tree farm in Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous region, Southwest China's Guizhou province, is welcoming peak tourist season as spring approaches.

Currently, the tree farm covers an area of 228,500 mu (15,233.33 hectares), with 1.14 million cubic meters of living trees and 94.89 percent forest coverage.

The tree farm has been introducing and breeding rare and endangered plants for 38 years. The engineers there are devoted to rescuing and protecting rare plants, and contribute greatly to biodiversity protection.

Its botanical garden of rare plateau plants from the subtropical zone has more than 1,000 plant species, including 37 species under national first-class protection, and 95 species under national second-class protection.

The tree farm also has an orchid breeding base covering an area of more than 1,000 square meters, 12 mu of peony breeding bases, and more than 100 mu of garden for traditional Chinese medicine ingredients.

In 2023, it will focus on forest resource cultivation and ecotourism to promote the high-standard development of reserve forest projects. It will also explore the cultivation technologies of planted forests, and provide theoretical support for future forestry production in the province.
