Guizhou's foreign trade increases by 62.8% from Jan-Feb

According to Guiyang Customs, Southwest China's Guizhou province achieved 11.03 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) in foreign trade in the first two months of this year, an increase of 62.8 percent year-on-year.

Exports totaled 8.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 87.4 percent, while imports totaled 2.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.9 percent.

In January and February, Guiyang's foreign trade value totaled 8.94 billion yuan and accounted for 81 percent of the provincial total, followed by Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture with 160 million yuan, Anshun city with 170 million yuan, and Zunyi city with 550 million yuan.

In the same period, Guizhou's general trade imports and exports were 7.84 billion yuan and accounted for 71.1 percent of the province's total. The import and export value of bonded logistics increased by 97.2 percent year-on-year, and that of processing trade increased by 13.5 percent year-on-year.

The top three largest trade partners of Guizhou were ASEAN, Hong Kong and the EU in January and February, with a trade value of 2.63 billion yuan, 1.11 billion yuan and 590 million yuan, respectively.

In the meantime, Guizhou's trade value with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative was 4.5 billion yuan, an increase of 130.1 percent year-on-year, while that with member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership was 4.3 billion yuan, an increase of 65.5 percent year-on-year.
