The digital economy in Southwest China's Guizhou province is experiencing significant growth. To support this growth, the province has implemented various measures aimed at cultivating leading industrial clusters and emerging digital industries.

Guizhou has been conducting research and development in big data for 10 years. Currently, it is actively building the first cloud service industry and creating an innovative "cloud" platform economy. Additionally, it is establishing three major industrial clusters, which include data centers, smart terminals, and data applications. The annual output of these clusters is projected to reach 100 billion yuan (approximately $14 billion).

As the first national big data comprehensive pilot zone, Guizhou took the lead in developing and utilizing public data, helping cloud service companies develop rapidly in the region.

Focusing on key areas such as cloud computing and edge computing, Guizhou has introduced and cultivated competitive advanced computing companies. Huawei Cloud Computing Co became the first big data enterprise in the province to achieve an annual output of 10 billion yuan.

In 2022, the operating income of Guizhou's software and information service industry increased by 90.5 percent, ranking the province the first in the country for 17 consecutive months.

Next, the province is set to accelerate the construction of an innovation zone for the development of the digital economy, ensuring an 18-percent increase in the revenue of its software and information technology service sector in 2023.

Furthermore, it plans to build a national first-class cloud computing service industry base, and by 2025, the annual revenue of the cloud service industry will exceed 50 billion yuan.
