Provincial games for ethnic groups in Guizhou kick off

The 10th Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities of Guizhou Province kicked off in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on June 11.

At 10 am, 17 delegations, each wearing colorful and unique ethnic costumes, entered the venue one after another. Traditional ethnic dances were also performed to display the rich and colorful culture of Guizhou's various ethnic groups.

Athletes and referee representatives took the oath at the opening ceremony amid a flurry of cultural performances, which showcased the province's main achievements in economic and social development since 2012.

The games include 10 competitive events and three performance events, with more than 4,000 participants, including athletes, referees, performers, and journalists.
