The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced its list of green manufacturing for 2022, and more than 20 companies and three industrial parks in Southwest China's Guizhou province were selected.

As one of the most significant coal coking production bases in Guizhou and even Southwest China, Guizhou Panjiang Power Investment Tianneng Jiaohua Co has recycled the residual heat generated by coke to produce medium-pressure steam for power generation in the past two years, generating 320 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and saving more than 100 million yuan ($14 million).

The company also established a water circulation system based on the wastewater treatment plant, enabling it to recycle 2,000 cubic meters of production wastewater per day, saving around 840,000 cu/m a year.

Additionally, the coke furnace gas produced by the 2-million-ton/year coking plant at the company is used to produce liquefied natural gas through processes like hydrogenation, desulfurization, methane conversion, and liquefaction, which is then sold to companies in Guizhou and Yunnan.

In Dalong Economic Development Zone located in Tongren, discarded lithium batteries are turned into valuable metal products like cobalt chloride, lithium carbonate, nickel sulfate, and so on in the workshops of local companies. The metals then act as upstream raw materials, and are used in the production of lithium batteries.

With green factories and industrial parks blossoming across the region, Guizhou is speeding up its construction of a green manufacturing system.
