Wujiang Bridge, the key project of the Dejiang-Yuqing Expressway located in Southwest China's Guizhou province, passed the bridge load test on June 28, moving closer to its official opening.

During the test, 16 trucks with a total weight of 560 metric tons were arranged into four rows, with four trucks in each row, at predetermined positions for symmetric and eccentric testing.

This test aimed to examine the overall construction quality and load-bearing performance of the bridge structure. It also involved testing the stress, deformation, and dynamic characteristics of key sections of the bridge.

Meanwhile, technicians conducted inspections to assess the bridge's carrying capacity, providing scientific evidence for the bridge's final approval.

The test results showed that the Wujiang Bridge met the design and specification requirements for overall stress and load-bearing capacity. It passed the load test.

The Wujiang Bridge is located at the junction of Sinan, Shiqian, and Fenggang counties. Its total length is 1,834 meters, with 504 meters spanning over water.

It will be the largest span arch bridge of its kind in the world.

The Dejiang-Yuqing Expressway is expected to further improve regional and provincial transportation capacity and services.

It will also promote the development and utilization of resources along the route, drive the economic growth of surrounding areas, and improve the living standards of locals.
