Guizhou holds briefing on Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2023

The first press conference of the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2023 was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 4 to introduce its four thematic sub-forums. 

Here are briefs of the four sub-forums. 

Sub-forum on "Integrated Protection and Systematic Governance of Mountains, Rivers, Forests, Farmland, Lakes, Grasslands, Sands"

Date: Afternoon, July 7

The forum is set to showcase a group of typical projects with private capital participating in ecological restoration and envisioning the future of ecological protection and restoration.

Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, well-known experts, and scholars are scheduled to be invited to attend the forum and give special reports.

The Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province is set to share its experience in promoting mountain and river engineering construction with high standards; the governments of Bijiang district and Jiangkou county in Tongren city are set to sign investment intention agreements, respectively, with Guyi Culture and Tourism Development Group Co on ecological restoration at the sub-forum.

Sub-forum on "Technological Leadership in Green Development – Technological Empowerment for Karst Ecological Environment and Resource Utilization"

Date: Morning, July 7

The forum is set to focus on extensive exchanges and in-depth discussions of karst's ecological environment and resource utilization, carbon peak and neutrality, and harmless treatment and resource utilization of bulk solid waste.

Academicians, experts, and scholars are scheduled to actively give suggestions to promote the innovation of ecological civilization technology and accelerate the formation of major related technological achievements projects in Guizhou.

Sub-forum on "Caring for the Beauty of Nature, Promoting Green Development – High-quality Advancement of Nature Reserve System Construction"

Date: Afternoon, July 8

The forum aims to exchange the latest theoretical achievements in the construction of nature reserve systems, share practical experience in nature reserve construction, and promote the high-quality development of nature reserve systems with national parks as the mainstay.

The forum is set to release the "Guiyang Declaration," calling for global efforts to care for the beauty of nature, promote green development, and achieve the vision of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. 

Representatives from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) are set to award the newly selected Chinese nature reserve management institutions with the "IUCN Green List" certification. The National Forestry and Grassland Administration is set to announce the excellent annual videos for nature reserves under the "Eye of Mystery" TV program.

International Forum on the Development of New Energy Storage Industry and Green Development Entrepreneurs Summit

Date: Afternoon, July 7

The forum is set to publish critical policy interpretations and related achievements, such as policy interpretations of the electricity pricing mechanism by the Guizhou Development and Reform Commission, a policy briefing on the development of a new energy storage industry by the Guizhou Energy Administration, a list of green industry investment projects announced by Guizhou Investment Promotion Bureau, and Study on the Development of Guizhou Electrochemical Energy Storage Industry by Guizhou Industrial Research Institute. 

Agreements on several green industry projects are expected to be signed on site.
