An art exhibition of 265 masterpieces is currently underway at the Guizhou Art Museum in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, from Aug 17 to Sept 3.

The exhibition is part of the 2023 Colorful Guizhou Cultural and Art Festival, and selects masterpieces created by 28 famous Chinese artists to showcase the humanity, nature, life and development of Guizhou.

The artists were invited on a field trip to Liupanshui city, Anshun city, Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, and Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture to create art.

They focused on Guizhou's distinct cultural heritage, including ethnic culture, historical background, and mountain culture. They also highlighted prominent features such as rural vitalization, ecological civilization construction, and bridge construction.

They produced numerous art pieces that showcase Guizhou's culture in the new era.

"This field trip brought renowned Chinese artists to Guizhou, allowing them to experience the province's new changes, atmosphere, and achievements. They witnessed various ethnic groups working hand in hand to build a beautiful homeland. They also marveled at the unique mountains and rivers. Everyone agrees that this trip was not only a learning experience but also a journey of introspection and understanding," said Fan Di'an, chairman of the China Artists Association and former president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
