Tunpu culture symposium concludes in Guizhou

A symposium discussing the historical value and contemporary significance of Tunpu culture was held in Anshun, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 29.

Experts and scholars in Ming history and Tunpu culture, including Mao Peiqi, Zhang Jinkui, Cao Duanbo, and Zhang Dinggui, were invited to discuss the value, preservation, and development of Tunpu culture.

The symposium aims to reveal the connection between Tunpu culture and Chinese culture, maintain the diversity of Chinese culture, explore cultural protection mechanisms, further explore its social and economic value in promoting rural vitalization and cultural and tourism integration, and promote its creative transformation and innovative development.

Tunpu culture is one of the four major cultural projects of Guizhou. rooted, grown and evolved in the unique natural and cultural environment of the Guizhou mountains, Tunpu culture, which shares the same origins as Chinese culture, has become highly valued.

After more than 600 years, Tunpu people still adhere to the cultural customs of their Ming ancestors, forming a distinct cultural zone that separates it from surrounding areas.
