Langde Art Week and a photo shooting program for Guizhou's rural areas were launched by the 16th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition in Langde Miao village, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province on Nov 15.

Until July 2024, the program will select 10 traditional villages with historical, ethnic, and cultural significance and invite photographers to work with local people and record daily lives through photos.

The photos will be showcased at the 2024 Colorful Guizhou·17th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition.

The program aims to share Guizhou's historical and ethnic culture with the world.

The PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition, which began in 2008, is currently the only event in the world that focuses on intangible cultural heritage protection and promotes the development of original cultural theories through visual images.

The exhibition's first art center, the "original culture art center," was established in Langde after the village hosted the 10th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition.

So far, the art center has received more than 100,000 artists, students, photographers and experts from both home and abroad.

The launch ceremony coincided with the Miao New Year. Photographers from all over the world came to record the festival culture and humanistic charm of the Miao people through their lenses.
